NCT Group Signs Pivotal MOUs to Integrate 4G and 5G Networks at NCT Smart Industrial Park

KUALA LUMPUR (May 6): The NCT Group of Companies has signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with SMARTSEL Sdn Bhd and Mikro Sdn Bhd to enhance the NCT Smart Industrial Park (NSIP) with telecommunications and energy management systems. The partnerships aim to introduce advanced sustainability practices and reduce the park’s carbon footprint.

According to a statement released on Monday, the MOU with SMARTSEL—an accredited provider of network facilities and services—will support the integration of 4G and 5G networks. The initiative is intended to strengthen telecommunications and digital operations within NSIP, while also enhancing connectivity infrastructure across Selangor.

The collaboration with Mikro will focus on the use of high-quality components in electrical distribution systems, with the objective of optimizing energy management and operational safety at NSIP.

Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy, founder and managing director of NCT, said the partnerships are important for rapid digitalization and state and nation-building initiatives. He noted that strategic investment decisions and multi-stakeholder collaborations are needed to propel growth and economic development, adding that the MOUs represent a transformative phase for NSIP and strengthen its role in Selangor’s progress as a hub of innovation and sustainability with robust 4G and 5G networks.

Khairul Azmi Misran, director of SMARTSEL, highlighted the economic and technological benefits expected from faster connectivity at NSIP. Syed Mohd Hafiz, CEO of Mikro, said the integration of Mikro’s X-series products and its Mikrosafe app is expected to improve safety and energy efficiency in Malaysia’s electricity distribution systems.
